Vinification of Montepulciano D'Abruzzo from Torre Dei Beati

The basis for the powerful Montepulciano D'Abruzzo from Abruzzo is grapes of the Montepulciano variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Abruzzo. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils composed of clay and limestone. After hand-picking, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is matured for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
