The powerful Rosso D’Asia from the house of Picchioni Andrea flows into the glass with a dense ruby red. On the nose, this red wine from Picchioni Andrea presents all kinds of blackcurrant, blackberry, sour cherry and plum. As if that were not already impressive enough, maturation in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as leather, clove and cinnamon.

On the palate, Rosso D’Asia from Picchioni Andrea opens wonderfully dry, firm and aromatic. This dense, meaty and velvety red wine presents itself on the palate with power and complexity. The finish of this red wine from the Lombardy wine-growing region ultimately delights with a beautiful aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the soils dominated by gravel and sand.

Vinification of Picchioni Andrea Rosso D’Asia

This powerful red wine from Italy is vinified from the Croatina grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lombardy. Here the vines drive their roots deep into soils of sand and gravel. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by 12 months of aging in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for Rosso D’Asia from Picchioni Andrea

Ideally enjoy this red wine from Italy, served at 15–18°C, as an accompanying wine to ossobuco, lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, or boiled veal topside with beans and tomatoes.
