More information about Moscato d'Asti DOCG - Prunotto

In the glass, this white wine from Prunotto offers aromas of acacia, orange blossom, cherry blossom, honeysuckle and lime, complemented by other fruity nuances. The Moscato d'Asti can be described as exceptionally fruity and velvety, as it has been vinified with a pleasantly sweet taste profile. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully light, melting and creamy. The balanced fruit acidity gives the Moscato d'Asti a soft mouthfeel without lacking freshness. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of lime and orange blossom. Mineral notes from the marl and clay-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of Prunotto Moscato d'Asti

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Gelber Muskateller. Only the best grapes were harvested for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Prunotto. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Piedmont. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone, clay and marl. The grapes for Moscato d'Asti are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Recommended pairing for Prunotto Moscato d'Asti

This Italian wine is best enjoyed chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to elderflower yoghurt ice cream with lemon balm, peach and passion fruit dessert or yoghurt mousse with poppy seeds.
