More information about Cont'Ugo Bolgheri DOC - Guado al Tasso

The Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri is a first-class red wine in a glass. It presents a wonderfully dense, purple-red color. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, blueberry, morello cherry and black cherry, rounded off with dark chocolate, vanilla and black tea, which are contributed by the barrel ageing.

The Guado al Tasso Cont'Ugo Bolgheri is wonderfully dry for wine lovers. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as is appropriate for a wine of this reputation. This velvety, melting and dense red wine is full-bodied and multi-faceted on the palate. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region, Bolgheri DOC to be precise, impresses with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the soils dominated by sand and loess.

The powerful Cont'Ugo Bolgheri from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Merlot grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sand and loess soils in Tuscany. Due to the moderating influence of the nearby sea, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop more aromatic complexity. The Cont'Ugo Bolgheri is also clearly determined by climatic and stylistic factors Bolgheri DOC. This Italian wine can literally be described as a wine of the Old World, which presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand when they are perfectly ripe. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled. The ageing in the barrel is followed by a long maturation in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
