More information about Il Bruciato Bolgheri DOC - Guado al Tasso
In the glass, the Il Bruciato Bolgheri from Guado al Tasso has a bright purple-red color. After the first swirl, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of black cherry, plum, morello cherry and damson, rounded off with black tea, vanilla and oriental spices from the barrel ageing process.
This dry red wine from Guado al Tasso is ideal for purists who would prefer 0.0 grams of residual sugar in their wine. Il Bruciato Bolgheri comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 1.5 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully melting, velvety and dense. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, Il Bruciato Bolgheri is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, more precisely from Bolgheri DOC, is ultimately delightful with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets from the loess and sand-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Guado al Tasso Il Bruciato Bolgheri
The basis for the balanced Il Bruciato Bolgheri from Tuscany are grapes from the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grape varieties. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sandy and loess soils. Due to the moderating influence of the nearby sea, the grapes ripen more slowly and develop more aromatic complexity. Il Bruciato Bolgheri is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The grapes for Il Bruciato Bolgheri are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by 11 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
