Rosato - Popphof

In the glass, the Rosato from Popphof offers a dense purplish-red color. The first nose of the Rosato reveals nuances of blackberries and raspberries. Further fruity-balsamic nuances join the fruity components of the bouquet.

On the palate, the Rosato from Popphof starts off wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven, and balanced. Powerful and multi-layered, this dense, velvety, and fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region ultimately delights with a beautiful length. Once again, hints of blackberry and raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay- and slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Rosato from Popphof

The starting point for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Rosato cuvée from Popphof are Lagrein and Merlot grapes. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the vines that yield the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and slate. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There, they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Rosato can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for the Rosato from Popphof

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Italy served at 15–18°C as an accompanying wine to boeuf bourguignon, fried calf’s liver with apples, onions, and balsamic sauce, or stuffed bell peppers.
