More information about Cigalus Blanc - Gerard Bertrand
Cigalus Blanc from the pen of Gerard Bertrand from Languedoc reveals a dense, pale yellow color in the wine glass. Swiveling the wine glass, this white wine reveals a high density and fullness, which shows in church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of Cigalus Blanc reveals of mangoes, star fruit and papayas. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as cream candy, brioche and sun-warmed rocks.
The Gerard Bertrand Cigalus Blanc presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, but round and smooth. The final of this youthful white wine from the wine region of the Languedoc finally thrilled with beautiful reverberation.
Vinification of the Cigalus Blanc by Gerard Bertrand
The powerful Cigalus Blanc from France is a cuvée, organically vinified from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. Cigalus Blanc is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The ripeness of the harvest for this wine of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Languedoc, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well ripened grapes and a rather high must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Cigalus Blanc is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
