More information about Blauer Zweigelt trocken - Käfer

With Käfer Blauer Zweigelt, a first-class red wine finds its way into the well-polished wine glass. It offers a wonderfully bright, light red color. On the nose, this Käfer red wine presents all sorts of sour cherries and blackberries. As if that weren’t already impressive, the maturation in stainless steel also brings in notes of chocolate.

This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 6.5 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler varieties and, despite all its dryness, this Austrian enchants with the finest balance. Excellent flavor does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully light and velvety. Thanks to its pronounced acidity, Blauer Zweigelt appears impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the Lower Austria wine-growing region finally convinces with a beautiful reverberation.

Vinification of Käfer Blauer Zweigelt

The balanced Blauer Zweigelt from Austria is a pure varietal wine, vinified from the Zweigelt grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for Käfer Blauer Zweigelt

Ideally, enjoy this red wine from Austria served at 15 - 18°C as an accompaniment to boiled fillet of veal with beans and tomatoes, duck breast with sugar snap peas, or baked feta parcels.
