The Käfer Blauer Zweigelt is a first-class red wine in a well-polished wine glass. It offers a wonderfully bright, light red color. This Käfer red wine presents the nose with all kinds of sour cherries and blackberries. As if that wasn't already impressive, chocolate is added to the mix thanks to the ageing in stainless steel.

This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 6.5 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Austrian naturally delights with the finest balance. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. The texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully light and velvety on the palate. The Blauer Zweigelt presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. The finish of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria is impressive with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of Käfer Blauer Zweigelt

The balanced Blauer Zweigelt from Austria is a single-varietal wine made from the Zweigelt grape variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Dining recommendations for Käfer Blauer Zweigelt

This red wine from Austria should ideally be served at 15 - 18°C to accompany veal steak with beans and tomatoes, duck breast with sugar snap peas or baked sheep's cheese parcels.
