The Teruzzi Vernaccia di San Gimignano is wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. This light white wine is light-footed and multi-layered on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG to be precise, is ultimately delightful with a good aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the marl and clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of Vernaccia di San Gimignano by Teruzzi
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Vernaccia. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from Teruzzi. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam, sand, clay and marl. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Vernaccia di San Gimignano are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.
